On the day of the exam, candidates have to carry a printed copy of the admit card with original and valid photo identity proof. On the Hall Ticket candidates have to ensure that their photo and signature are printed clearly, or else it is not accepted at the GATE exam center. The Gate Admit Card 2020 is the ID proof of the candidates at the exam center and not just an entry pass. IIT Delhi has instructed the students to carry a colored print of the admit card at the center on an A4 sized paper.

Here are a few steps you can follow to fill the Gate 2020 Application Form –
Registration: To apply for Gate 2020 candidate should first register on the GOAPS portal using his/her details like name, valid email id, country, and mobile number. The candidate also has to choose a password for future log-in. After successful registration, an enrolment number will be generated.
Fill out the form: The application form has sections like – personal, academic and contact details, all of them have to be filled. Candidates have to enter the GATE paper they want to attempt and select two GATE exam centers from their zone and one from another zone.
Upload photograph: Scanned images of photograph, signature and category certificate (if admission is sought under a particular category) had to be uploaded in the prescribed format.
Application fee payment: The application fee varied on the gender and category of the candidate. For example, the application fee for general male candidates was Rs. 1500, while female candidates needed to pay only Rs. 750. The application fee could be paid in online mode only via net banking, credit or debit cards.
