A scheme of Pre-Primary classes on self-inancing basis was started in 50 Kendriya Vidyalayas in the year 2000-2001.  However, all Kendriya Vidyalayas have not been allowed to introduce the pre-primary. Pre-primary is on self financing basis, provided there is a demand from category 1st parents and infrastructure is available with the Vidyalaya. Its salient features are :-

1.                  A development fee of  Rs. 400/- per child per month is charged.

2.                  Admission is granted as per the priority categories applicable for Class I

3.                  Class-strength should be between 20 to 25 only.

4.                  Age of the child should be four years as on 1st April.  The upper age  limit is 5 years.

5.                  Duration of the class is 4 hours and is conducted 5 days a week.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

6.                  A Nursery trained teacher and an Aaya are engaged on part-time basis.  At present pre-primary education is       implemented in Kendriya Vidyalayas of Kolkata Region.

In Silchar Region  facilities for Pre Primary Education  are available in  K.V Imphal, No-1 (Lamphelpat) & K.V Silchar.
