CONTRIBUTION

The KVS SILCHAR REGION  has structured the school activities in such a manner as to ensure an all-round development of the students instead of confining to mental development through lessons in the classroom. Adequate opportunities are provided to the students to take part in games and a variety of other co-curricular activities. This helps the students develop a healthy spirit of sportsmanship and companionship, which will enable them face the life with confidence. This will also help them develop physically, aesthetically                              

KVS is the biggest national level organization providing primary & secondary education having Kendriya Vidyalayas through out the length and breadth of the region

Kendriya Vidyalayas of the region are multicultural having students and teachers from all regions, languages, religions and present a true picture of unified India.

Kendriya Vidyalayas  of the region are composite, co- educational schools and provide equal opportunities to both the sexes to eliminate gender related inhibitions from early childhood.

Kendriya Vidyalayas have a very high teacher - pupil ratio much better than the national standards. KVS Silchar region  has 27241students. It enables them to pay individual attention.

There is no tuition fee for girl students. However, boys from class IX onwards have to pay a tuition fee. There is no fee at all for single girl child for classes VI on wards.

To foster national integration competitions in dance, group song, elocution etc. are organized at regional level. Inter- Regional competitions are based on social, physical, cultural, economic and other aspects of selected states and countries.

Similarly to promote scientific temper and inquisitiveness, KVS organizes science exhibition at School, Cluster & Regional level and also regions participate at National KVS Science Exhibition.

To help the less privileged, KVS has reservation in admissions and appointments for SC/ST and other eligible categories..

Games and sports are a regular feature of KVS.  Each KV organizes annual sports day.  A mega event of games and sport is organized at regional level. Thousands of students participate at the national level games & sports meet every year which culminates at participation in games and sports organized by school games federation of India       ( SGFI).

Sense of self-discipline and service to others are important virtues to be inculcated amongst the children. Cubs, Bulbuls, Scouts, Guides and NCC are tuned to promote the values.

Kendriya Vidyalayas are affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and participate in all innovations undertaken by National Institutions like CBSE, NCERT, NIEPA etc.

KVS has adopted comprehensive and continuous system of evaluation of children’s performance. The scheme of promotion from one class to another gives suitable weightage to oral and written examination, assignments and project method of learning.

KVS has many elegant Vidyalaya buildings conducive for development of total personality of children. Some schools have general games like cricket,  table tennis, Kabaddi, Khokho, Chase, Valley Ball etc.

To unfold dormant talents of children Kendriya Vidyalaya SILCHAR  REGION has clubs and councils.
